Making Your Own Perfume – Is It Worth The Bother?   by Remy Baker

The right perfume can set the perfect feel good state of mind or romantic ambience for just about everyone. With just a few drops of that special perfume applied to the right places, a great setting for romance can be created. Indeed, a fragrance can appeal to our senses in such a way so as to trigger emotions and sensations that we sometimes don't even know that we have.

A lot us can remember that exceptional perfume that first caught and held our interest in our teenage years, and how we just had to have it. However, over the years our taste changes and matures to include or sideline other fragrance groups from those we were formerly hooked on. But in the last decade or so, the big perfume houses have developed the tendency of producing watered down generic fragrances that all seem to smell the same.

This current trend has brought the integrity of the perfume industry into question. It has also resulted in the emergence of more independent perfume makers who specialize in creating full bodied, masterpiece perfumes. Many of the perfumes crafted by these artisan perfumers have grown big cult following of people who can't get enough of their scents.

Apart from the independent perfume makers, there are also those who prefer to make their own perfumes. By creating their own fragrances, such people can make it to their own specific taste and budget. They also find that it is considerably cheaper to make their own scents than to buy brand name ones. And because it can be so much easier to make their own scents, they can afford to be more adventurous in the types of blends they create.

So, how can one go about creating one's own perfume? To make quality blends, you will need to equip yourself with the right information. I would suggest that you get hold of a good how to make your own perfume manual or book. One that is easy to understand, that provides accurate information, and gives step by step simple instructions on how to bend your perfumes.

What are the benefits of being able to make your own perfume? Well you get to select the perfume ingredients that go in your fragrance. Your perfume is exclusive and unique to you alone unless you choose to sell or give away your blends. You can also save yourself a whole load of money since it is considerably cheaper to make your scents than to buy the big name brands.

Lastly, perfume making is one of the best fun hobbies that can actually make you some big bucks if you turn it into a business. All in all, perfume making is fun, exciting and totally addictive for anyone who delves into it. So yes indeed, knowing how to make your own perfume is well worth the effort!
