The Kindle DX currently prices out at around $350, whereas the standard 3G Kindle is only going to cost you about $190. This can be a pretty good chunk of change for some people.
The Kindle has many pros and cons and I'm sure you could go back and forth about whether or not the pros outweigh the cons or if the cons outweigh the pros. The fact is you have to decide if it something that you would enjoy, or if you would rather stick to the traditional paper books for your reading pleasure.
